Swim Lessons:

"Thank you for all of your help so far - you are an excellent swim coach/teacher!" - Jennifer V 2009

Learn how to swim!  Develop your stroke so you to work with the water, not fight it.  Joanna attends coaching seminars on a regular basis to keep her up to date.   Each private lesson will focus on proper breathing, increasing your comfort in the water, improving your balance in the water, and developing your technique  - all common issues, even in elite swimmers.  Joanna utilizes techniques which promote proper mechanics utilizing your natural body movements.  She refers to this technique as Silent Swimming - a marriage between yoga and swimming.  This technique creates seemingly effortless movement through the water while eliminating shoulder and back pain (most often due to improper biomechanics).   The more noise you make while in the water, the more inefficient you are.  Use the principles you learn in the pool to help with your other activities outside of the pool.

Joanna works with both athletes who are looking to learn how to swim or improve their stroke, kids on swim teams looking to improve their stroke in competition, individuals who experience shoulder and lower back pain when swimming as well as adults and children who have never learned how to swim.

Currently Joanna teaches children and adults at the Abingdon Club in Jenkintown, PA and at Total Body Fitness in Lansdale.  She can accommodate students at other pools if needed.  Most sessions are 30 minutes in length.  If choosing more than one stroke, longer sessions are available up to an hour (60 minutes).  Rates based on length of lesson and facility.

Triathletes and beginner students welcome.  If you are frustrated with the lack of progress from other lessons you have taken, including Total Immersion, then why not give this a try.    Learn to move naturally with the water, not against the water fighting every stroke of the way.

As seen in Triathlete magazine: "Swimming is the most difficult event for many.....Practice open water swimming at least once if you can.  It makes a world of difference!"  (as Toreenzo Bozzone's nutritoni and swim coach)

"[I learned so much] ...I liked the progressive way the class was taught. [I swim way better than before, and feel so much more comfortable in the water!]  - Sharon B 2009

"I only wish I had learned this way when I started 2 years ago.  This is so much easier!"  - Jen M 2009

"I just want to thank you for your lessons and advice on swimming.  My Iron Man event went extremely well.  My swim time was 1:36:55.  There were still a lot of people in the water when I got out, so my goal of not being the last out of the water was achieved.  But, more than that, I was never more comfortable or confident during any swim practice  or event as I was on that day.  I actually enjoyed swimming for the first time in my life, despite swimming against the current and being surrounded by jelly fish.  I also used endurolytes for the first time that day, and I did not have any cramp issues, so I think it is something that I will continue to use."
